The Steeples Assisted Living

In response to community priorities, the Chemainus Health Care Foundation donated land and raised $250,000.00 to spearhead the construction of Steeples, an assisted living complex in Chemainus. The Steeples Housing Society was created to manage the facility in partnership with BC Housing and Island Health. Steeples, which opened in 2007, has 16 suites and a capacity of up to 32 residents. Support for two daily meals, house cleaning, laundry and activities is provided to residents.

More recently the Foundation granted additional land to the Housing Society, which enabled the construction of three independent apartments, known as the “Courtyard”, adjacent to the main complex.

The Chemainus Health Care Foundation continues to support the facility as assisted housing is seen as a continuum of health care.

The Foundation collects and distributes any funds donors wish to direct to Steeples.
